CHICAGO, IL, April 03, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In addition to being a GS1 Solution Partner, Bar Code Graphics has contributed to numerous barcode guidelines for GS1 US and other organizations over the past twenty-five years. In 2005, Bar Code Graphics digital barcode application (PrecisionCodeTM) received software certification by GS1 (formerly the Uniform Code Council) and is the only application to create vector based digital files (eps) to receive this certification.

PrecisionCodeTM is the application which powers many barcode creation websites around the globe, such as www.createbarcodes.com. As of January 2008, an interim coupon format, which includes both a UPC-A and GS1 DataBar, is being used. The final coupon format consists solely of the GS1 DataBar barcode and will be required in 2010. Since the data requirement for the GS1 DataBar coupon are extremely complex, redundant data entry steps must be eliminated to prevent key entry errors when originating barcode symbols. Utilizing the PrecisionCodeTM application, companies can dynamically link their front end systems and instantaneously create and receive GS1 compliant digital barcode files.
